Information
for potential clients
TSW is proud to be a partner in the early stages of this exciting and critical new project. This film, written and directed by Myriam Fougére, is a documentary about the thousands of women in North America and Europe who decided to create a world without men in an effort to discover and live their full potential. These women, lesbian butches and femmes of the 1950s and feminist lesbians of the 1970s, came together to create a world outside of patriarchy. They bought land, they built their own houses or fixed up old ones, they developed their ideology by writing books and their creativity by writing songs and poetry, by doing sculpture, paintings, and other works of art. They organized and gathered at special events called Women's Festivals across the United States.
The goal of the project is to find some of these women and collect their stories about this important part of history. Some questions driving our inquiry : What motivated this radical experiment? What did it look like? What was daily life like during that time? What was the long-term impact on the individual women as well as the communities in which the women lived?
The project is currently in its research and development phase.
Collaboration with VSA Arts of Vermont
We began by documenting the creation of a theater piece about the history of special education. VSA Arts’ Theater Director, Emily Anderson, worked with former special education students to create the play and we videotaped the rehearsals and development process. We then filmed interviews with special education advocates, teachers, parents and former students about how special education evolved-stories from the legislature, stories from the classroom, and stories from the stage (arts programs). We finally produced three 20-minute videos which will be packaged with a videotaped version of the stage play, Bill’s Bill. Contact VSA Arts of Vermont for more information or to purchase copies
Native Drumming education group, promotional video, fall 2007, Burlington, VT
We filmed an after-school workshop in which two drummers worked with elementary students, introducing them to drumming and dancing; we then interviewed the group’s two leaders and produced a short promotional video.
Solo work, February 2007
This video short is a based on autobiographical stories of love and
seduction. Blending interview footage with “dressing up” footage,
along with mixing multiple vocal tracks with music, the piece offers audiences
a delicious and disturbing six minute dance with issues of memory, sexual
identity development, and the nature of patterns in personal story.

Tribute video for Montréal client, June 2007
We worked with our client to produce a 50th birthday tribute video for her sister. We conducted interviews with her family and friends to get stories from all ages, collected photographs, and then edited 15 hours of footage into a 25 minute collage of stories, video, music, still photos and text which was presented at the surprise party our client threw for her sister.
